37 weeks and miserable

Constant lightning crotch, frequent pain from where baby is pressing on my nerves, a never ending heatwave, swollen feet, a very small “village”, a 3 year old with a never ending duracel battery, a cockapoo who looks as sad and fed up as me, husband who has to work 40 hours a week.

The end is near, right?!

Better days are coming… right? 😅

38 weeks here. Can I add to the list constant heartburn, constipation, unable to get into a comfortable position to sleep at night, and needing to get up for a wee as soon as you do.

Plus being unable to bend over or do the washing up without hurting my bump or back.

Not long to go...

It’s rubbish OP but the time will pass! This time next year you’ll be sat on the grass eating strawberries with your little one in a cute summer outfit.

Okay the strawberries-on-the-grass image just made my whole day, what a lovely way to picture the other side of all this. I'm way earlier so i've got zero room to complain, but that's exactly the kind of thing i'll be holding onto when it gets rough. Sweet of you to hype her up like that.

37 weeks with insomnia on top sounds genuinely brutal, you're basically at the finish line running on empty. i'm way earlier so i'll shut up about being tired lol, but i'm rooting for you to meet them soon. hang in there, so close now x

37+5 here and I am so miserable. I’m awaiting ELCS in 9 days but the consultant has been trying to bring it forward but with no luck so I feel like it’s a never ending timeline.

I cannot sleep and I feel like I live on the toilet having a wee. I feel so grumpy about everything and everyone!

I know the end is in sight but I forgot how hard the last few weeks are

Sympathies! I had my first during a heatwave. He came at just under 37 weeks but was over 10lbs! I had a section. So relieved to have him out but oof not a walk in the park! But I was up and about and we had loads of visitors and went out to a restaurant by the river second day home (got that first breastfeed in public out if the way). Then joined a post natal group she. He was three weeks.
Second one I timed it better! Last few weeks are dire but once you have your baby it will get better!

Ah yes, the insomnia….

Me too - the insomnia is something else second time round. I feel tired but my body says, nope you must remain awake and enjoy restless leg sensations too. And turning over in bed is agony due to PGP. It's just a lot harder with a toddler generally I think as body is already a bit knackered from constant up / down / carrying!

Omg I was you! Only my Duracell bunny was 19 months old and my cockapoo was a maltipoo 😅 so hopefully I am you in just over a years time, in which case I can confirm that yes better days are coming, life is absolutely awesome now 🥰

Ha, a 19 month old and a cockapoo, your hands were beyond full and you still made it through. It genuinely helps to hear better days are coming from someone who's actually out the other side. Wishing you a fast finish, you're so close now x
