C section brought forward but no slots

I appreciate no one has a crystal ball but just wondering if anyone’s had experience of their c section being brought forward and if they got a slot on the list.

Currently booked in for 39 weeks but yesterday my consultant requested 38 weeks ( next week) due to some complications I am currently having alongside huge anxiety.

Problem is next weeks full so I’m on a list and I just wondered if anyone had experienced similar and made it into an earlier slot?

thanks in advance.

youll be changed from an elective to an emergency. This is what happened to me. But I was a low level emergency (category 3 or c I think) so I had to wait all day until 7.30pm! Ask for them to fit you with an iv drip if you’re waiting a long time doing nill by mouth.

So I don’t think I will currently qualify emergency and don’t have a day just they would like to do it on Monday. I know there are 4 women including myself who need slots next week but there are currently none. Just trying to work out if I should just get my mindset around my original date

Those booked in for 39 weeks may give birth sooner and free up slots. And if not, they will categorise you as emergency, which really is not an emergency but categorised as must be done that day.

It’s tough but I think with this you need to accept there’s a touch of wait and see, just like with going into labour.

Some of the women booked may go into labour, some may change their mind, some may be done as an emergency.
