40 weeks pregnant and fed up

I'm 40 weeks pregnant, SO warm and my nose is working like I have superpowers. The last two days have finally been cooler and breezier near me so was hoping enjoy having the windows open but local farms are muck spreading and it smells SO BAD. it's our first summer here and I wasn't prepared 😭 DH took the kids on a bike ride yesterday and they all needed to shower and launder their clothes when they got home because of the smell.

Insomnia has kicked in too, 3 hours of sleep last night. My feet are swollen. Baby still hasn't dropped so oxygen is a luxury. My oldest mates had a reunion yesterday and I couldn't go because it was too far in the car and would have required an overnight stay. I'm just not at my best. Now facing spending the day inside with the windows closed and I'm FED UP. We were meant to go to a local event but honestly the air is making me wretch. I'm not blaming the farmers, they gotta do what they gotta do, but equally bleugh bleugh BLEUGH.

People always seem to want you to look on the bright side so...at least it's the home stretch.

However if anyone wants to join me in a whinge you'll find a safe space here!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

On the plus size hopefully when you give birth it cools down a touch and stays cooled down, easier to look after a newborn when it’s cool than burning hot death. Look after yourself, get your feet in a cool water it will help.

@Larrythecatforpm I have also been saying this as the last one arrived a few days before the heat. So yes, good point.

The world smells better this afternoon, got to sit in a shady, breezy garden for a bit and have the windows open. Much better now the house isn't so stuffy!

Awww I had a 1st August baby! I lived off rhubarb ice cream.

You're nearly there, not long now!

@lemoncurdcupcake

Almost there OP!! I hope the weather cools down and makes things easier for you and that baby gets a move on. X

You have my sympathies OP, 39+1 here with my second and sick of the swelling, acid reflux, fatigue, brain fog, and the rest! Not long now, walking and napping (taking up the whole of the double bed to myself!) I’ve found are the best ways to stay comfortable. Keep going nearly there! X

39 + 5 and looking after a toddler. Every movement is an ordeal. Out of breath sat still. Sick of the weird levels of phlegm in my throat and of constantly needing a wee. My first was 6 weeks early so I've never been this pregnant, and have a feeling she's going to be the opposite and come late. Sounds crazy but bring on labour!

@SpaceCat87 oh you poor thing. There was no moment more difficult than the end of pregnancy with a toddler around, those days are tough. I hope you have support and it's over soon. I remember the first time I could comfortably play on the floor with my first after the second arrived, it was lovely to have nobility again 😁

@DogSprogsnOddBods well done finding ways to feel comfortable. Very much hoping you're not waiting too much longer.

Baby is here now thank goodness! 10 fingers, 10 toes and I'm in that lovely bubble. My other two are slightly older now and it's such a lush thing to see them besotted too. Wishing you all the luck with your labours and little ones xxx
