Dying hair in first trimester

Hi all I'm booked in for a cut and colour at my salon today and I'm 11 weeks plus 2 days.
Is it ok to get my roots done and half a head of highlights?
I know the NHS say some like to wait untill after the first trimester.
I will be getting it cut as I look like a mop and my already very thick hair has trippeld in size.

I'm anxious and overthink everything.

To be honest could you not just get the cut done and leave the colour? I just left it but it was a long time ago and people used to say that was the way to go

The NHS say 'Most research shows that it’s safe to dye or colour your hair while pregnant.

Although the chemicals in permanent and semi-permanent hair dyes may cause harm, this is only in very high doses. When you use hair dye, you are only exposed to very low amounts of these chemicals'.

I have never salon dyed my hair so not sure what products are like there. I box dyed my hair in my first pregnancy throughout - baby fine. I used demi permanent and non ammonia. This time I am pregnant and have used permanent non ammonia dye in first trimester. According to the research the risks seem to be very small so it's up to you how you feel about it :)

If it’s going to worry you don’t do it. My personal decision was no because if anything went wrong I would always wonder if I caused it. But I have a history of MC.

I had mine highlighted at 8.5 weeks. Midwife said it was absolutely fine

Dyed my hair throughout all 5 pregnancies. As long as your not having a bath everyday in the stuff it seems fine

I did it with both my pregnancies and everything was fine .

I’ve had highlights though out both pregnancies. All I would say is let your hair dresser know your are pregnant, my hair takes to the bleach a lot faster when I’m pregnant, she had to wash the back off while the front developed 😅and keeps a closer eye so I’m not sat for too long with my hair being singed by the bleach
