Early scans getting further and further behind...

I need to know if this is normal or if im really overthinking here.

I had a scan 2 weeks ago at approximately 8 weeks and baby measured 5 days behind LMP dates...fine....i probably ovulated late.

However, i had another scan today, and I was behind by a further 2 days...so now baby is measuring 7 days behind LMP dates.

It was a private scanning clinic so the sonographer didnt comment on the health of anything, just gave me photos and took a measurement.

Should i be worried? Im not sure whether to contact the EPU....

The sonographer literally said nothing about the date issue?

yes I would contact EPU as this is concerning

I wouldn't worry about a 2 day difference as the difference of a mm in how they have measured can change the dates a lot, and before 12 weeks they say it can be less accurate.

For what its worth my 6 week scan showed me a few days behind and as this is an IVF baby I know the exact dates, and the sonographer said it didn't matter at that stage. I had another scan just before 11 weeks and it was measuring 5 days ahead.

Was the heart rate looking good? I would be more worried if that was low.

Wait till the 12 weeks dating scan, unless you were tracking sex and ovulation it’s hard to know exactly what the dates should be and even then a day or two’s difference isn’t too unusual.

I don’t think EPU would be able to tell you anymore than you already know.

I had my kids long before scans were routine, but surely even in early pregnancy babies grow at different rate. I was pregnant at the same time as my friend but she hardly showed until about 7 months and even then only had a slight bump and I was enormous. Her son weighed 6lb 5oz and mine was 8lb 15oz.
