Private 13 week scan suggests boy, but can you really tell?

I had a private ultrasound at 13 weeks 2 days. She said it’s 99% a boy. What does everyone think? Can you tell from this? I’m still not sure!

How come these threads are always when OP has been told boy, but they’re asking MN if they’re sure. Never seems to happen when they’re told it’s a girl.

I’ve seen plenty of is it definitely a girl threads.

I wouldn’t make any inferences. Op could desperately want a boy and be wanting to make absolutely sure, or not. Either way if she loves him when he arrives does it matter? (Apparently so …)

You’re exactly right, I have 1 boy and would absolutely love another boy. It’s a shame people can be so quick to judge.

I thought 13 weeks was too early to tell from a scan whether it’s a girl or a boy. The genitals don’t develop until week 14?

Where did you get the scan done? Nowhere I know would do a gender scan until at least 15+ weeks…

I was told it’s 70% accurate at 13 weeks, which considering it’s 50/50 isn’t that accurate!

I’d wait a little longer as the nub isn’t clear.

Nub theory is just a theory and the genitals aren’t even developed at 13 weeks so they can have a good guess I suppose but it isn’t going to be anywhere near as reliable as a scan done at 16 weeks onwards and nothing is as accurate as the NIPT test.

I’ve used the nub queen Facebook groups for all mine (and my 3 best friends) pregnancies and they’ve all been correct at 12/13 weeks. It’s also much easier to give a more accurate boy guess earlier on rather than girl, as with a girl nub it still has time to rise early on in pregnancy.

Do you have any other images from the scan? I can't see any nub on that one.
