Trying for a baby/ovulation

Hello,

Myself and my partner are trying for a baby (same sex couple) and are trying with a donor, using Ai at home. I have been tracking using Flo and Premom. It says I have been in my fertile window so we have used our donor but I keep getting negative results with the ovulation strips but have been getting ovulation pain on one side etc. Has anyone else gone through this and it has been a positive outcome? Thank you

I stopped using the premom app to track ovulation after the highest result it gave me was 0.7 (which it classes as ‘low’) and I conceived.

Were the test lines on the strips ever as dark as the control line?

No never as dark but there have been ones that have got darker. My most was 0.28 but still said low. Fingers crossed 🤞

Hmm it could be that you haven’t ovulated yet, what cycle day are you on? The fertile window on the app would just be a prediction.

I am cycle day 15. I have had ovulation symptoms, such as the cramp on one side and other symptoms (without going into tmi). I didn’t test 2 days before my fertile window so maybe I would’ve had a positive then or I’ve had a very short surge. That or I haven’t yet. Time will tell

Sorry it's not clear from your post if it's your first cycle trying?

If it is I'd say t's only day 15 so keep testing every day, I didn't get a positive until day 18.

I'd also say don't get too hung up.on the number the app gives you. Nothing is better than your eyes so once the test line is as dark or darker than the control, go go go!

Apologies, yes first cycle trying. I am continuing to test

I never got the darkest line until about CD 18 so keep testing.

Keep testing. I read a paper about ovulation pain - they performed scans on women who routinely experienced it and found that in most cases it did not coincide with ovulation. I wouldn't rely on that as an indicator!

I never got a positive on urine OPK's, despite having an extremely regular cycle and blood tests showed I do indeed ovulate. I bought a reusable, saliva OPK in a pharmacy abroad. None of my British friends have heard of them but all my friends there used them. My brand is 'maybe baby' but I'm sure others are available online. Wishing you all the best x
