Does anyone know if you can request a midwife appointment at 25 weeks for your second baby? Has anyone else done this?

Context: I am pregnant with my second after a very traumatic and difficult first pregnancy and birth. My current pregnancy is also high risk for various reasons. I had my 16 week midwife appointment and next midwife isn't until 28 weeks! That's literally 12 weeks and makes me feel super anxious.

Mine have always told me just to call if I want another appointment. No harm in asking

You can certainly ask. Will you not see a midwife at the hospital after your next scan? I get it won’t be your community one so you might want to see her anyway.

Definitely ask! Saying that I’m high risk, just had a 25 week appointment and all that happened was she took my blood pressure and dipped my urine so not sure if it’s worth it

No, you don’t usually. Just the sonography unless you’re consultant led, in most hospitals.

I’ve got an appointment booked in at 25w with my community midwife. She actually booked it at my 16w scan and said that’s when I’ll get my MatB1 so I thought 25w was normal for everyone? This is my 3rd pregnancy

Fair enough. At my hospital you definitely see a clinic midwife following your anomaly scan.

I'm having my second too and also have a 28 week appointment as my next one. You could certainly ask but just curious what's making you anxious that the midwife appointment would help with? They use a doppler but you'd be feeling movements by then anyway, would other tests help your anxiety? I had a 16 week scan and have another scan at 20 week scan but I can go to the maternity assessment unit if I have any concerns (they can put monitors on or scan if worried about baby).
