Hi

I am currently 14 weeks& 4 days pregnant with baby number 2.

When did you start to show with your second baby? I know your first it can take a while for your bump to show but I was told you could start showing quicker with your second? I can see a bump but it’s not obvious! I am just an anxious person!

please no sarcastic comments it’s just a question. Pre

I had a bump at 14 weeks with my second, but like you it wasn't super obvious unless you knew. I looked a bit bloated I suppose.

SweatiestTaboo · 02/07/2026 13:35

My two pregnancies were really different.

With DC1 I looked like I’d put on weight around my middle quite quickly - by 12 weeks? The visible, hard pregnancy ‘bump’ emerged around 18-20 weeks and then from 26 weeks onwards was huge and could barely walk by the time I delivered at 41 weeks!

With DC2 I didn’t look pregnant at all until after 20 weeks. My bump was quite neat until about 34 weeks, then really ‘popped’at the front and I had her at 37 weeks. So definitely didn’t look pregnant earlier and never got as big.

I think not really showing at 14/15 weeks sounds quite normal. I remember having a barely noticeable bump at my 20 week scan with my second. Currently pregnant with 3 and at 15 weeks I look like I did at about 28 weeks with number 2 😵‍💫

This is me, but I'm only on baby number 2. At three months I looked how I did when I was about seven months pregnant with my first. 😭

I have a noticeable bump at 14 weeks. I’ve looked similar since about 8 weeks though as was very bloated, my stomach has got firmer now though so think is more of a small bump!

hopeful4us · 02/07/2026 21:43

Hi @mummyofagirlxxxxx

I'm 23 weeks today with baby #2 and have only really just got a little bump. Tried on a bridesmaid dress yesterday and it's only noticeable if I roll my hand across my stomach and cup the bump! I'd say if you carried small with your last, it'll likely be the same this time

mummyofagirlxxxxx · 02/07/2026 22:32

hi thank you so much laddies for your positive comments, puts my mind at rest. Fingers crossed the bump starts popping out soon ( my boob is only noticeable when I push my boobs up) haha x

You're not being silly at all — the not-knowing is so hard when you're already anxious. I'm a first-timer so I can't speak from experience, but everything I've read is that second bumps often show earlier because the muscles have already stretched once, so a subtle bump at 14 weeks is completely normal too. Every body seems to keep its own timeline — sending you calm. x

Thank you for your lovely comment!

You are right being pregnant gives you so much anxiety! I showed quite late with my daughter so maybe this is similar! You would have thought I would be less anxious the second time round 🙈 trust me the anxiety doesn’t stop after you’ve given birth it just gets worse haha!

Thank you again! Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy journey xx

Hey! I had a quite a big bump towards the end of my pregnancy as my daughter weighed 8 pound 8 ouches. 🙈 I didn’t show until later so I am hoping this might be the same with my second pregnancy. I had a scan 2 weeks ago and all was very good! I just struggle with my anxiety and worry all the time haha

8lb 8oz, wow, she was clearly very cozy in there! So glad the scan went well. I am a worrier too (first baby, so basically everything feels like a question mark to me) and honestly a good scan is the only thing that actually quiets my brain for a little while, so I hope yours bought you some peace too.

You don’t know what to expect do you when it’s your first baby but you are doing just fine! How far along are you? Do you know what you are having?
Also congratulations btw xx

Aw thank you! I'm just over 9 weeks, so still really early days and way too soon to know what we're having (doesn't stop me guessing every single day though). And you're so kind, hearing from moms who've already been through it genuinely calms me down more than any of the books do xx

Awwww 🥰How are you feeling? The first trimester for me is the worst as soon as I got to 12 weeks tho you start to somewhat feel better 🤣

yes definitely reading other peoples experiences on here make you feel more at ease than Google as well. Just don’t go comparing yourself to other pregnant mums and the same goes for when the baby is here, also you will soon know that a lot of people like to share opinions on what you should be doing. Don’t listen to them you are the parents ❤️

I was definitely showing by about 15 weeks with my second but more like 24 weeks with the first!

Emilychen · 03/07/2026 23:04

Oh that's such a big difference between the two! I'm a first timer so sounds like I shouldn't hold my breath for an actual bump anytime soon lol. Did people around you actually notice at 15 weeks or was it more of a only-you-could-tell situation?

wishfulthinking25 · 03/07/2026 23:12

I thought I had a bump at 12 weeks, it was bloating. More like 18/20 weeks. With my first I didn’t show properly until around 26weeks.

Emilychen · 03/07/2026 23:54

26 weeks with your first?? Okay, recalibrating my expectations as we speak lol. Good to know the early bump is mostly bloat though, because mine definitely appears after dinner and is gone by morning. Thanks for keeping me realistic!
