Just wondering if anyone can remember how they felt before they went into labour....either the day of or 24/48 hours before.

Any weird symptoms, like more tired, burst of energy.

A whole week before DD1 was born I didn't move off of my sofa as i'd come down with sinusitis and was a complete wreck. I was miserable, grumpy, tired, you get the picture.

With DD2 I was full of beans

kayzisexpecting · 25/06/2008 09:10

I felt fine. I was tired but I had been for the past few weeks.

Ledodgy · 25/06/2008 09:12

very irritable.

wannaBe · 25/06/2008 09:15

the day I went into labour I made a load of biscuits.

Three days later my mum came to visit us with baby and I offered her one and said I'd just knocked them up that morning and she believed me.

Ebb · 25/06/2008 10:40

I suddenly started falling asleep on the sofa for a good couple of hours in the afternoon. I NEVER used to sleep in the day! Also had period type pains and just had a feeling something was going to happen soon. DS was born 2 weeks early and I can sleep in the day quite well now!

mishymoo · 25/06/2008 10:42

I felt absolutely fine! No symptoms or anything! Only got to bed at about 12.30am and waters broke at 1.15am, DS was born at 7.24am

DumbledoresGirl · 25/06/2008 10:44

Ill and exhausted. Period like pains. Braxton Hicks. It was crap I have to say.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 25/06/2008 10:44

Woke up in the middle of the night with contractions. I had had no inkling/change of mood/show/bh's to make me think things were about to start.

Hoonette · 25/06/2008 11:58

Completely normal. Had no idea anything was going to happen until my waters broke. DS born 6.5 hrs later.

wasabipeanut · 25/06/2008 12:07

Anxious and unhappy - my waters had been leaking but labour hadn't started and I'd been told I was on the clock to an induction.

I was frightened and stressed.

BecauseImWorthIt · 25/06/2008 12:09

DS1 - had a massive, massive IBS attack during the night, and then waters broke the next day. At 36 and a half weeks.

DS2 - felt completely fine. Went out for a Chinese with some friends. Waters broke at 6.15 next morning, at 36 weeks.

ShowOfHands · 25/06/2008 12:12

I felt ill/exhausted/emotional for 48hrs after having a trouble and stress-free pregnancy.

SaucyMoo · 25/06/2008 13:07

DS- had 2 days of false labour pains, every 5 mins from friday night to sunday night. Real labour started sunday midnight, he was born monday morning-i was 39 weeks

DD-Second pregnancy had chronic vomiting and runs all night long then started contractions in the morning, ds was born just before midnight same day-again at 39 weeks.

ladytophamhatt · 25/06/2008 13:10

Same as marmaduke with her DD1 - very wet with waters leaking constantly. Miserable experience. Was also generally feeling dreadful and thankful that being pregnant would be over soon.

ConnorTraceptive · 25/06/2008 20:18

leaking waters and feverish (which was scarey as I was worried about infection)

Elmosgirl · 25/06/2008 20:20

Just normal, had no inclination that anything was going to happen and even now looking back I can't remember feeling any different in what were the hours leading up to labour. I even went to bed that night feeling normal.

Contractions started at 1am.

minouminou · 26/06/2008 00:20

thursday night, went for a late walk with dog, DP and chum, on the way back i remember saying "I'm very uncomfortable" cos the braxtons had gone up a gear
Friday, out and about, met another chum who brought a cherry and apple pie round for me and i couldn't touch it....scrubbed the grillpan frantically
sat morning, woke up at 6-ish for a wee, as had become my habit, but oddly enough felt wide awake (i usually went straight back to sleep)
9am-ish, felt first contraction...i knew that was it as soon as i felt it
DS arrived at 3.30pm sunday

Mimsy2000 · 26/06/2008 10:56

i got nauseaus the night before. it wasn't serious, just ate something and it went away [had a show the next morning and labour followed later in the day]

Pinchypants · 26/06/2008 11:06

I retrospect, calm but purposeful, wanting to get things done - drove 40 miles to get car MOTd then lugged giant frame home from Habitat. Waters broke 4am, contractions 2.30pm, DD born 9.50pm.

jenniebee · 26/06/2008 11:10

VERY VERY SCARED!and annoyed water leaking but no movement at all and with this being 2 weeks after term very miserable.

orangehead · 26/06/2008 11:13

ds1 I shouted at hubby like a pyscho
ds2 cried for hours on end till I finally cried my self to sleep

Sketchi · 26/06/2008 11:50
