Hi, im really worried,
did a pregnancy test (well 2 actually) last tues and they both had very faint lines on them, i knew it would be really early on so tryed not to get too excited. Then the next day (wed)i came on my period, with pains aswell, so just thought i must have been mistaken. But over the past few days ive been real emotional like i was with ds. Am still bleading 6 days on, (odd as i only bleed for 2 usally) just done another 2tests and they both have definate lines this time? what do you think? If i was having a mc would the tests still say i am pg? Going to docs tomorow, this is driving me crazy! Help!

Not sure how long it takes for the hormone levels to drop.
It could be possible that you were carrying multiple and lost one. It happens, recently thought it'd happened to me but I'd fallen pg again straigfht after mc.

It can take a few weeks for the pregnancy hormones to go down if you have miscarriaged and a pregnancy test will show postive for a while,

Sounds like it could still be an implantation bleed - I bled for six days with this pregnancy and was convinced I'd miscarried. But apparently DS had other ideas.

You can also lose a twin as littleboyblue noted. Lines getting clearer is a good sign though.

Good luck

I bleed with all my preggs, often for a week at a time. If you mc it is usually heavier than normal period

littleboyblue · 24/06/2008 23:11

Good, will keep an eye out for you.
Goodluck

any pains? there are other things, such as ectopic, which need to be ruled out. if you're near to 6 weeks they should scan you to see if the preg is in the womb. good luck.

When I had a very early MC the test showed negative really quickly, about 3 days after bleeding started. You may have just had more hormones than I did but it's odd that it's still showing a strong positive 6 days after. I guess the doctor will tell you what's up...
