I'm nor being funny, and sorry for gross photos- but is this "the plug", have I started going into labour?? Have been having short contractions things, they last about a minute, been having them about 15mins apart- my app says its braxton hixs but this mucus/blood thing, is it happening?? I am 37 weeks and 1 day pregnant.

Hi OP, it could be. My mucus plug was smaller than I expected, not much bigger than yours. I had a few contractions like you describe but didn’t give birth for another week or two. I don’t know how common that is. Good luck, wishing you the best.

Obviously I don't know - but gave birth to my daughter at 38 weeks in an intense heatwave around 20 years ago. Apparently a heatwave does tend to speed things up. Good luck!
