Bleeding in early pregnancy after miscarriage, looking for similar experiences

hi, just looking to hear if other people have had similar experiences.

i had a missed miscarriage of twins at 9 weeks in 2023 and went on to have a healthy baby boy in 2024.

fast forward to 2026 and we began trying for baby number 2. I found out I was pregnant on the 14th of April but sadly had a miscarriage on the 25th of April.

On the 1st of May I got a negative test. Still negative on the 23rd of May . I then got a positive test on the 27th of May. I didn’t have a period in between the miscarriage and positive test.

All has been fine. Tests have been getting darker (including a 3+ on a clear blue) and I’ve had many pregnancy symptoms. Sore breasts, tiredness, nausea and lots of vomiting.

Today I had some mild cramping for about 5 minutes, thought to myself maybe I need to go to the toilet (sorry tmi) when I went to the toilet for a wee and wiped I had this on the tissue. Nothing in my pants just when wiping.

i actually have a scan this afternoon due to being unsure of how far along i am. I’m guessing 7
or 8 weeks? But as you can imagine i am now very stressed.

i had bleeding in my pregnancy with my 2 year old and was given progesterone but as you can imagine due to having two previous miscarriages I am feeling very anxious that it’s happening again.

i will update following my scan and really hope everything is ok . Maybe it’s just a hematoma?

please can you let me know if you experienced similar and had positive out comes? I know it can go either way

I had this in my second pregnancy and it was a small hematoma, went away by 12 weeks and had my daughter. Unfortunately you won't be able to know until you have the scan, but hope it's all OK.

Thank you for your post. It was a hematoma that caused bleeding with my son too and i remember it slowly disappearing on a scan. Keeping everything crossed that it’s normal and nothing to worry about

I'm so sorry for your loss. My daughter lost twins at 9 weeks in march. It's so hard. I'm glad you had a baby following. It gives me hope for her. Its so hard going through this.
Will you be able to get progesterone again? Can you contact your early pregnancy unit?

I had bleeding for several weeks with both my pregnancies and had 2 healthy children so if it's just a small amount don't worry.(Easy for me to say)
Wishing you all the best.

I asked about progesterone when I first found out I was pregnant as I know in some areas when a woman has had more than 2 miscarriages they give them to them as standard but I was told my district don’t give progesterone unless you’ve had bleeding in the current pregnancy. I assume if all is ok at the scan then I will be given progesterone.

my scan today is with the EPAU so luckily it’s happened on the right day and I don’t have to wait very long till my scan.

Trying to remember I’ve had bleeding in pregnancy and it had a positive outcome. Just hard to hold onto when 2 out of 3 pregnancies so far ended in miscarriage.

I’m sorry to hear about your sister. It is incredibly hard and I remember it completely knocked me and I found subsequent pregnancies very nerve racking. But I did have my son and that really was the light at the end of a very long and stressful tunnel. Wishing her all the best

Hey OP, I've been pregnant four times and I've bled in every single one. The first I terminated, the second was my son, the third was a miscarriage and I'm now 10 weeks with the fourth, on progesterone and have had two positive scans.

It's so so hard but just try to think positive until you have a reason not to. Wishing you lots of luck for your scan xx

I had a little bleed with my eldest at 11 weeks. He's now a healthy 13 year old

sillypossumsmum · 26/06/2026 12:44

I bled every pregnancy, I have 3 now adult children

Autumn02 · 26/06/2026 20:18

Update.

Went for the scan and all looking good. Measuring 8 weeks and a strong heartbeat. No reason could be found for the bleeding. The sonographer says could have been a hematoma that has come away. No concerns though and I was given progesterone to help support the pregnancy.

thank you for all your kind posts. Feeling very reassured now

Goodness it's an emotional rollercoaster. I'm excited to see my daughter get pregnant again but it will be very anxiety inducing when it happens.
