Could this be the mucus plug or early labour at 36 weeks?

Hi all, I am 36 weeks pregnant today and FTM so all new to me. But since yesterday I have had random lower back aches that come and go, I had one episode of light pink watery blood after peeing, with some thick yellow discharge with a couple of tiny pinpricks of red blood in it. No blood in urine and nothing in underwear, it was literally after wiping. Baby is very low down/head engaged as confirmed in scans and midwife apps. I called Triage who were very chill about it all and said don't call back unless I have red blood or reduced movements....very confused 😂 keen to hear people's experiences of losing things like mucus plug as been seeing contradicting accounts online of what it looks like! I've been getting braxton hicks for a while, not painful just uncomfortable. TIA!

Personally the yellow discharge would have me asking to be seen, incase of infection, give them a call and see if they’ll see you xx

I lost bits of my plug for a few weeks before labour. It doesn't necessarily mean anything is imminent nor that you need to be checked. Lower back pains do sound a bit contraction-like. Again, doesn't mean baby is coming now. They also could just be caused by baby's position.

I lost my plug and went into labour at 36 weeks. The plug was a semi-solid lump which fell out in the shower. I went to the hospital to be checked and was 6cm dilated! I hadn’t felt anything that I thought were contractions. Go and get checked.
