First Pregnancy - is this normal?

Hi all 🩷

I’m 28, 4 weeks and 6 days pregnant and this is my first ever time. I haven’t yet had any symptoms apart from feeling tired at night as usually I’m a night owl. But other than that, I’ve not had anything. I’ve had the odd cramp low down, I’ve had cramp in my bum but that’s it. A lot of sneezing. I’m starting to worry that somethings wrong?

I did a test today and there was a strong line but if I’d had a missed miscarriage I won’t know until my first scan will I?

I’m just worried as I’ve got pcos and I’ve never ever been pregnant before, never had a positive test until a week ago. So it’s scaring me that I’m not someone who will be able to carry a baby or something. I’m genuinely really worried incase something is wrong 😢 luckily I’ve had no bleeding but it’s hard to feel pregnant without the sickness, sore boobs etc.

Thanks all 🩷

Try not to worry OP. Some women don't get any pregnancy symptoms at all.

@lbk14 as hard as it is, try not to worry! I have PCOS and tried for 18 months before I got pregnant, I didn’t find out until I was 7 weeks and the symptoms hit like a brick at that point 😅 I imagine your symptoms will come soon! 🥰 I’m now 15 weeks and still sick 🤣

I had a private scan at 8 weeks just to reassure myself - this might be an option for you? X

@Em3009aww thank you for commenting! And congratulations I’m so happy for you 🥰 it’s weird because we didn’t use protection for our 6 years we’ve been together, yet we decided to try in April but then we stopped trying in may and I was pregnant by June. 🤣 but to be honest, I’ve lost 6 stone over the past 2/3 years so maybe that’s contributed to it.

How are you finding the morning sickness etc? I’m nervous about that 😂 I always worry about bloody everything!!!

I was looking before at earlier scans and I defo think that’s what I’ll do to put my mind at ease! Xx

@lbk14 always the way! Congratulations to you too! 🥰 mines been quite bad but I’m now on some new meds which are helping! Hopefully you can avoid the sickness 😅

the early scans are great - I think after 6/7 weeks you have a better chance of seeing the heartbeat too so if you can hold on to then I would!

Honestly symptoms mean nothing. I did have a missed miscarriage but I had symptoms sp there isn’t necessarily a connection! 4/5 weeks is early for symptoms too tbh so try not to worry.

Rycbar · 17/06/2026 18:46

Also if you do go for an earlier scan - don’t go until at least week 7/8. Before that it’s normal not to hear the heartbeat so could just cause you more unnecessary stress.

I didn't get any symptoms till around 7 weeks, then morning sickness hit me like a truck! It's really common not to have symptoms at this stage, many people develop them a few more weeks in, or some never get them at all
