Hi, I’m 25 weeks pregnant and FTM. I will be bottle feeding. Looking for advice on MAM bottles. I have read good reviews about them but wondered if it would be more cost effective to start my newborn on the 160ml bottles and buy some 0 teats, rather than buying the really small bottles? Has anyone else done this?

We found the Mam bottles brilliant and I did prefer the smaller bottles to start with. Only because I found it was easier to measure and feed while bub was still taking smaller amounts. Also felt it may help with them taking in too much air but don’t actually know if it helped or not. I’ve not looked into it this time round, but you used to be able to get a free small bottle when you used an Amazon baby wishlist 😊

We used Mam bottles for both babies. I rate them.

If you only have a couple of ounces in the large bottles you can get more air, which may make baby gassy and uncomfortable. Or it might have no effect at all. You have no way of knowing until you try but that’s supposedly the logic behind them. Also if you’re out all day small babies feed more frequently and the big ones take up more space so might be easier to fit multiple small ones in your bag. The tops are interchangeable though so there’s nothing stopping you sticking a newborn teat on the larger bottle if you want to try that and see how you go, amazon prime will be there if you want to get the small ones in a hurry at a later date.

Same for me, loved the Mam bottles more than the Tommee Tippee ones I used with my first. We bought a multipack with different sized bottles that have taken her through the first year. Started with the 0 teet and moved up as she got more adept at feeding

You've probably decided now but will give my input anyway haha! Used Tommee Tippee with first child with no problems, so went the same way this time. Child 2 really struggled with them and wasn't gaining weight, so we tried MAM as we had 3 of the small ones from when we had private scans! These have been brilliant. Didn't buy any more small ones, just bigger as you have said with smaller teats and worked our way through teats!

BTW this is a Great price....

I would recommend buying 2 sets as.once baby is down to 6 feeds then you just wash the bottles once a day.

I also recommend nuby rapid cool!!!

Congrats on your pregnancy!!!
