I know this has been done a lot and there have been plenty of threads on this topic, but I need someone to talk some sense into me! Had hyperemesis with dd1 and dd3 (drip/drugs etc) though with dd2 what I'd consider 'normal' morning sickness. Sickness kicked in at about 4.5 weeks. I'm just over 6 weeks with no.4 and starting to get really worried that I don't feel even nauseaus. Have very sore boobs (more so than with dds), extreme tiredness, lots of saliva/metallic taste, bloodhound nose, but am worried that this baby hasn't 'taken' becuase lack of sickness . I know what will be will be, but I've just got it into my head that something must be wrong. Just wondering if anyone else has had nausea free pregnancy after severe sickness?

Sounds like you are having a boy!

Seriously, every pregnancy is different, you've probably just done your stint as 'vomity girl' and have moved onto 'sore tit woman'.

If you are six weeks, you should be able to get a dating scan and see a heartbeat - once you have, your chances of miscarriage really do plummet.

Cheer up chuck, aside from being incredibly daft to be having a fourth child , there doesn't sound much wrong with you - aside from normal mummy paranoia

Echoing previous poster re every pregnancy is different. With dd I lay on the sofa, groaned and vomited bile for too long! With ds I never knew a day's sickness

PInkyminkyohnooo · 23/06/2008 23:02

Hi Diege, I've had HG twice, but I've just had normal morning sickness this time and it didn't kick in until about 8 weeks at the most. With all the other symptoms you certainly sound pg to me! Can you get an early scan?

Sounds like you have a sicky free pregnancy- here's hoping!

Litterbug · 23/06/2008 23:02

Ive been VERY ill with this this pregnancy but it didnt kick in till 7.5 weeks.

Diege · 24/06/2008 10:06

Thank you so much everyone for your comments I'm going with the 'every pregnancy is different' line (may be a boy this time!!)and will probably wait until I get my 12 week dating scan through rather than try and get an early scan (it would make me worse I think arranging it then waiting etc..)
Also briefly considered getting more hpts and obsessing over darkness of lines, but I am such a worrier that I think the 'put it out of my mind for now' approach is best for me rather than fuelling the obsession!

Hi

All i can say, is that every single pregnancy is different, so you may not necessarily get it! I had to be reminded of this on numerous occasions as my pregnancy has not been stereotypical!! I had 2 weeks of feeling icky and that was it. Sickness is not a sign of strength of pregnancy anymore... Good Luck.

BlueDragonfly · 24/06/2008 10:14

ihad no sicknes at 6 weeks with ds3 apart from mild nausea that led to me doing a test in the first place but that disappeared after i did the test...it kicked in good and proper at 7 weeks!

PInkyminkyohnooo · 24/06/2008 10:15

It may be a boy but I have a boy and a girl and was sick with both, so I have no idea what I'm having this time!

Rodeo · 24/06/2008 14:27

Hey Diege
Sorry to hear you're worrying, you do sound v. pg to me (with a boy ) Just pg nerves that's all. You watch, you'll be on a drip this time next week
I'll try and drop you an e-mail this week, have you heard from Twinkle? The Nov thread got a message from her dh which was lovely Wondered if you had more news. Speak soon and don't worry! x x x x x x x x x

You are having a boy!

I had awful sickness with dd, and with ds hardly anything at all, and i had similar worries.

Diege · 24/06/2008 17:58

May well be just that PUCCA . Just seems bizarre that this pregnancy is so different. I would have done anything when in hospital with the others to be where I am now, but now I'd rather just feel sick! [warped pregnancy brain]..

I felt eaccatly as you do this time. It's mad. Last time I was so ill I almost wished I wasn't pg, but if feeling sick is what you are used to when pg you worry when it isn't there. Warped as that sounds!

Diege · 24/06/2008 19:12

Good to hear your story PINKY, really helps . Did you say you're pregnant again? (or did I make that up?!)

yes I am- another mad one here! Number three due in November Everyone looked slightly ahgast when we announced it as I had been so ill, but I've been pretty lucky this time - no symptoms at first then normal MS.

Diege · 24/06/2008 20:08

Congratulations!! I am dreading annoucing no.4, and am expecting the usual (you'll be busy/got your hands full/trying for a boy???). BTW Nov is a great month to have a baby (2 out of my 3 were NOV babies). Quite looking forward to Feb birthday too (should be good stuff in the Sales )

thanks

lol about the comments- I think most ppeople think I'm mad to be having 3 under 4 but I'm really looking forward to it.

I'd love 4 but DH says absolutely not!

Diege · 24/06/2008 20:34

LOL, close gaps are great. Mine will be 7,6,3 and (fingers crossed) newborn. Hard work but lots of fun . Because we had the first 2 so close together (16 months apart)we like the idea of 'even-ing it up' a bit. Think 4 is my limit though!
Oh and you have time to work on your dh
