Heartbeat seen at follow-up scan but measuring behind, should I worry?

Hi everyone,

I had a scary scan 10 days ago at 6.5 weeks when the fetal pole was measuring less than 2mm with no heartbeat.

I went for a follow up today 10 days later when I should’ve been around 7+6/8weeks and fetal pole has grown to 9mm with a heartbeat.

EPU said baby is measuring at 7 weeks and they’re not concerned about this as there is a strong heartbeat and by 12 weeks most people catch up to their dates!

also I’m 99% sure on my dates as we only tried twice that fertile window and I tracked with LH and BBT and actually got an early ish positive at 9DPO so I didn’t implant late.

I’m so pleased that there was 7.3mm of growth and a heartbeat 🥹 but my anxious self still is wonder if everything is ok even though i am measuring a little behind!

I had a thread on here recently panicing about the same thing, where I was consistently 5 days behind at every scan, (7 weeks, 9 weeks, 11 weeks). I was bang on at 12 weeks. There is a margin of error on the measurements by 5days if I recall, and even at that, when they are so tiny, milimetres make a difference. I know it's stressful, but you are headed in the right direction.
