Hi, I’m 39 and last period was April 2025. Bloods were fine. Doctors none the wiser. Very emotional and husband lives abroad leaving me to raise two small children. Is this Peri or is there a way to kickstart my periods again?! Apologies if this is just a rambling call for help…lol.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I would see your GP as menopause under 45 has long term health implications.
As your period stopped at 38, it would be considered Premature Ovarian Failure.

Thank you - they seem massively unconcerned to be honest. I’ve started to lose patches of my hair in places too. All very worrying and they’re literally shrugging their shoulders. I was hoping for a miracle cure on bringing back / kickstarting my periods, lol - thank you for your reply X

Are you super under or overweight? Don't let the GP fob you off, if I were you I would be pressing for a referral higher up and if that is who is clueless, then a second opinion. If you can afford it go private, I know it is expensive but it sounds like you have had menopause at 38 years old and as previous reply mentioned that could cause long term issues.

Thank you!! Ok I feel a little less crazy. I am underweight & have noted this is a concern of mine. Have rebooked with a different GP. Thank you all for not fobbing me off!! X
