Anxious about stopping progesterone at 4 weeks after fresh embryo transfer

I had a successful fresh embryo transfer last month and currently 4 weeks pregnant. I spoke to the clinic today advised I need more. The told me they won’t prescribe anymore as o had a fresh transfer.

i am feeling really anxious about stopping and everything I’ve seen online say 12 weeks is standard.

has anyone experienced this before.

any advice appreciated

I agree, that doesn’t seem right. As far as I know, the advice is 12 weeks’ use regardless of fresh or frozen transfer. I’d query it with the most senior nurse but perhaps have a look at where else you could get progesterone.

My clinic recommends 8 weeks but I asked for more and they prescribed it for me. I didn't want to stop cold turkey and I've been using 2 a day for the past week and now I'll use 1 a day for a week until 12 weeks. I can't see any reason why they would deny you a prescription when you have to pay for it. Mine was about £45 for 3 boxes.

It might be overkill but the way I see is that it doesn't hurt, and if the worst happens, at least I know it won't be because of something easily avoidable.
Good luck x
