Possible twin pregnancy

I’m not sure if I’m overthinking this, but my scan looks like it could be two instead of one… anyone else had this happen early on? This is a 8 week scan btw

What did the “expert” who did the scan say?

We had a scare and had to go to the hospital due to the chance of an ectopic pregnancy, the maternity ward we were on was for miscarriages etc (not sure if any of this makes a difference) she didn’t say much just that there was a strong heartbeat an obviously we were able to see a fetus. I could just be being silly but the picture just looks a bit strange lol

I know a couple of people who only found out at 12 weeks they were having twins despite earlier scans so anything’s possible. They aren’t easy to read early on I think and I certainly haven’t a clue how to read yours!

I think I am just being silly as a friend who had twins said to me it doesn’t just look like one fetus as there’s a slight line in between the somewhat circle! Xx

There is one fetus there right in the middle, black is empty space.

I thought I was just being silly just a few people had mentioned about twins to me so I started to panic and look stuff up!

How many weeks are you now 6/7?
They will definetly be able to tell at 12 weeks.

That was just before 8 weeks, I’m now nearly 12 weeks with a scan coming up this Thursday. I hadn’t properly looked at the scan picture as we had to go for an emergency scan as the hospital said there was a chance I was having an ectopic pregnancy so I’ve only just properly looked at the scan x

That does look like identical twins to me (I’ve had a twin pregnancy but non identical and 2 separate sacs sadly ended in mc) I can see 2 distinct foetuses in your picture I’m sure.

I had twins and although my first scan was at 12 weeks, this doesn't look anything like my scan pictures at all. The two separate fetuses were very distinct from one another - I had two round shapes where you have one.

I have twins and it was very clear on the scan there were 2 babies at 6 weeks
