Pregnancy limbo after spotting, cramping and slow early scan measurements

Hi,
I’m currently driving myself mad.
we had been trying for a bay for 9 months. We finally had a faint line after my period being late. I then had quite a bit of pain in my sides and the next day back to negative. My period then arrived a week later.
Fast forward to my next period, we are pregnant!
From wha we had calculated, at week 6 and 5 days I stated to have brown discharge after going to the toilet and period like cramping. This went on for a day until we went to a&e because the cramping hadn’t stopped and neither had the discharge.
As it was bank holiday the usual nurse who does early pregnancy scans wasn’t there. Another practitioner scanned just to be sure there was no bleeding outside the womb where there shouldn’t be. I also had a blood test and my hcg levels were at 94067 which was good for around 7 weeks. I was sent home and told to come straight back if any changes or more blood. They booked a scan for the next week to check if there was any development.
as the next couple of days went past the spotting continued and the pain continued. Sometimes being heavier and changing colour, then going back to brown and being lighter. The pain persisted.
After three days went by the pain had gotten worse, so back up we went to A&E. We spent all night up there waiting to be seen as the only nurse had been called into an emergency surgery. I had another blood test and my hcg levels had lowered slightly going down to 9098.
We were then booked in for a scan that day but were told it is probably going to be bad news and signs are pointing to miscarriage. I had already gotten my head around this news anyway but I needed it confirmed so we could deal with it.
We went home and had a few hours sleep a the ten back in for our scan.
On arrival the nurse told me it would be an internal scan rather than an ultrasound sound. As the scan proceeded she told me I had both a gestational sac and also a yolk sac however they are measuring small, around 5 weeks and 6 days.
They have now given hope and booked in for another scan in 12 days. They don’t have the answers for anything yet until we see any development on the next scan. The cramping has eased allot today and the spotting still there but very light.
Has anyone had a similar experience as I now feel like I’m still stuck in limbo and I have no idea what to think?!

In my opinion none of that sounds promising to be honest. What did the first scan show? Did they look for the pregnancy or just for bleeding? If your dates are accurate and you’re 7 weeks you absolutely should be able to see a heartbeat at this point. Obviously there’s always a chance dates are wrong which is why they always make you come back for a second scan. When did you first get a positive test?
