Ormskirk maternity or Liverpool Women’s for consultant-led pregnancy care?

Hi,

I'm struggling with who to self refer myself to. Currently 5w so I know I have time but this is my second one. I'm currently debating between ormskirk maternity and the women's liverpool. First one was with Whiston but it was awful and traumatic so I can't go back, a lot of scare mongering into induction (when isn't there!), consult led but didn't really ever see one.

I have friends who went to ormskirk and they really like them but then other have said to go to the women's. Both are the same distance and I will have to be consult led again due to weight and previous experience. I want a team that will actually listen to me and not just tell me to have a C-section as I had an emergency one.

I also struggle without my husband so need him as much as I can.

Does anyone have any recent experience that can sort of say which may have more pros than the other?

It's all changed a little in 2 and a half years so getting used to the new process in pregnancy!

Thank you!

My niece was under Ormskirk but then was told that she had to go to Whiston for her C section. That was a couple of months ago.
Her sister didn't have a good experience at Ormskirk.
They thought nearer home might be best, but both say that they are sorry that they didn't go to Liverpool.
Sending you good wishes and hope all goes well.

Ormskirk was great for me but if your consultant led/high risk they won't take you as they are looking to close the scbu and move to it to Whiston. So I'd look at The Women's first.
