EDD based on LMP = 17th July
Based on both scans = 23rd July

So - I will be 37 weeks (and at term) this Thursday BUT if I end up going 'overdue' etc - at what point will i be considered overdue .

I was the same, was 37 weeks last thursday.

My scans say: 10 July
But I worked out EDD of 3 July.

You have to use the dates from your scans (23 july), although I have found intuition usually right as I was sure I was 5 days ealier than my scan dates in my last pregnancy and I was, though this could have been a fluke!

Good luck with the rest of yours, just make sure your packed for hospital (if thats where your having baby)just in case you do come near you EDD.

I was told that they use the date from the 1st scan when deciding when to induce etc.

I think the usual rule is that they take your scan date if it is more than 4 (I think) days different from your LMP date, but I think the protocol might be different from hospital to hospital.

I guess they would use your scan date - all things being equal.

However, as I found with my last pregnancy they did slightly chop and change to suit the circumstances. They wanted to induce me in the end due to high bp and decided to go by my LMP date (which made me further on) in order to argue that I was closer to term. Up to then they had used my scan date.

Just to go against the grain my midwife always went by my dates not the scan dates.

depends on your hospital. Ours has just started going by the scan dates with absolutely no discssion so, by that, DS3 was born eactly on his due date. With DS1 and 2, it was all a bit how you and your MW worked it out between you!

you will have nothing to say in the matter, as they will always decide without recourse to your opinion...
hope you pop on time to save the discussion!

The same thing has happened to me with my EED 25th of June and my scan 14th July ...so it was 19 days out! Huge....
So Im confused too ...the doctor said to go with the the scan date, but Im not so sure because scan wasnt done till i was 20 weeks..

Basically Im fully prepared to go in to labour anytime ..just worried abt going too overdue, and not even realising it.

Its all very annoying!
Goodluck!
