Bleeding at nine weeks after jogging, contact early pregnancy unit or scan?

Early pregnancy unit or a private scan ? I’m 9 weeks pregnant, I wiped this morning before my jog and everything was ok. I went for jog this morning and within 15 minutes I felt like I had wet myself . After I finished my jog , I had a gush of red blood in the knickers that had completely soaked through my knickers and gym trousers . I don’t know whether I wait to see how things pan out , or to try and get a reassurance scan or contact the early pregnancy unit ? .

I have a 3 year old son and prior to him, I had a miscarriage at 10 weeks that started off as brown blood but slowly progressed to clots etc but hadn’t experienced a gush of red blood before , it was like I wet myself during my jog.

Early pregnancy unit, not sure what a private scan would do differently in this situation.

Wishing you all the best x

If you are ever concerned about symptoms I would always go to early pregnancy or other medical professionals in your care and never to a private scan.

In one of the due date threads I was in for a previous pregnancy a lady was told her pregnancy had ended by a private scan, two days later when she got the scan at the epu it showed a healthy pregnancy.

Private scans have their place if you want a sneaky peak at your pregnancy but please don't use them to medical reasons. They can miss things that are problems or see problems that aren't there and in both situations you would want to be seen by your health care professionals so you may as well just skip the private scan step and go straight to the epu.

I hope everything is ok

Thank you , the bleeding stopped after my jog and was when I wiped. It’s stopped since 11am so almost 12hrs. Will call epu in the morning . Thanks

I had this, minus the jogging, but pregnancy progressed, dr said dd2 was likely a twin (other factors too) but the other twin wasn’t viable

just at update, baby is fine. There’s a small bleed nearby but the nurse said this should be absorbed by the next scan. I’ve been advised not to do any high impact exercise until my dating scan.
