I thought I was pregnant, had a lot of similar symptoms as I did in early pregnancy with #1. Took a test, negative. Started my period 2 days later on the day it was due. After 10 days, I was still bleeding, so I googled and lots of things were saying to take a test in case it was pregnancy related. It was positive. Called the doctor and she told me it sounded like a miscarriage, she was sorry and said that if I’m still bleeding by the weekend to take another test and call them back so they can possibly refer me for tests. Today(Saturday) 13 days of bleeding later, it’s gotten heavier but the test is still reading as positive. Doctors is closed because it’s a bank holiday, so I called 111. Referred to an out of hours doctors. She said that it’s possible that I’m miscarrying but also the pregnancy could still be viable and referred me to the epau (early pregnancy assessment unit). However, they’re closed until Tuesday. So I’m basically just waiting for them to open and get me in for a scan. I could still be miscarrying but I could also be 6 weeks pregnant and the bleeding is something else.

Has anyone had similar and it’s had a positive outcome please? Or even a negative one?

I find it unusual that you have had 13 days of bleeding, with a continued bfp for potentially such an early loss.

I've had 3 early miscarriages and each time the bfp has turned to bfn then the bleeding started. I was under the impression that the drop in hcg is what triggered the bleeding to start.

With my 1st child I bled from week 4 to 8 and by the time epas scanned me (almost 9 weeks) the bleeding had stopped and they told me it may have been a blood clot that had passed on it's own. I then went on to have a successful and straightforward pregnancy. I wouldn't have described the bleeding as period like though. It was more like heavy spotting on wiping.

Can I ask if the bleeding is really heavy, like a period? And is your bfp getting darker?

It’s coming and going. Started like a period, stopped after 5 days, became spotting, then Friday started like a period again.
BFP isn’t getting darker but staying the same tbh, wouldn’t say it’s different than it was 4 days ago

Have you used a digital with weeks to see if HCG is rising? I know those tests aren’t always reliable but sometimes they can give an indication of HCG levels.

Not a positive story I’m afraid but I had a threatened miscarriage which progressed to an actual miscarriage at 6w2d last month, the bleeding I had wasn’t stop start though and once I started passing clots tests faded quite quickly to negative over about the course of a week or so. A nurse did ask me if I was bleeding constantly (which I was) as apparently stop/start bleeding can be more reassuring and not necessarily a miscarriage. I will say with my threatened miscarriage things did progress quite quickly and definitely didn’t last 13 days (I started bleeding 6/4, miscarried 8/4 and the bleeding stopped 15/4 and I tested negative a few days later!). EPU were really keen to get me in asap though to rule out an ectopic. Sending love OP, the uncertainty of not knowing what’s going on is awful. I hope EPU get you in quick on Tuesday x

@sapphirerubydiamondI'm sorry you had to go through that, that sounds tough!
