Is there a reason you are testing so much?

Can you not assume you are pregnant, as per the 4 tests?

wanderingwillows · 22/05/2026 05:21

This early on you need to test in the morning as your levels probably aren’t high enough in the evening for a test to detect

It appears people do but I'm not sure why.
It's like taking your driving test again the day after you passed, just to check 🤣

Could be a chemical miscarriage or could just be that your urine is too dilated ( they say to test first thing as that's when it's strongest )

Some of us have had previous losses or anxiety and want to ensure the pregnancy is still there or see if the lines have got any darker.

I am really sorry op. I had a similar experience. Postive two days before period. I tested 2 days later for line progression and it was negative I began to bleed a few days later. I am hoping that for you it's just a diluted urine/bad test but you may have to prepare for an early loss. If you can please try and wait a week and then test again if you have not bled before then. I'm really sorry. I'm hoping for you

It may have been a chemical pregnancy unfortunately, hence the initial positive test followed by negative even after taking a test first thing this morning.

I would do another test tomorrow morning but after several negative tests, it is likely you are no longer pregnant.

That’s a bit insensitive isn’t it. People want the reassurance that they are still pregnant, especially those that have had losses. A bit of kindness and sensitivity isn’t that hard to show.

Thank you all for your help and support. I have bloods booked this morning to find out what’s going on

It must be lovely to only test once and fully expect to remain pregnant and have a baby. The first time I got pregnant aged 30 I took one test and that was it! Started bleeding a week later. So I took another test. Negative. I was so naive that first time. I truly didn’t think I would lose the pregnancy. Every pregnancy since I’ve taken multiple tests to check if I’m still pregnant. Pretty much every pregnancy I watched the lines fade and then I started bleeding. Except the two times I had missed miscarriages instead. Those times I had strong positives but the baby stopped growing. It’s been over 10 years and I still haven’t managed a full term pregnancy. No living children.

It is very much not like taking a driving test. I passed my test aged 17 and have remained passed. I have never remained pregnant for the length of time I should.
