Elective C section Rosie Hospital

Hi, I’m currently 39 weeks and 4 days pregnant and still haven’t been given a date for my elective C-section by Addenbrooke's Hospital. I’ve contacted PALS and also spoken to the waiting list administrator, but I’ve just been told to keep waiting because I’m considered low risk.
Is this normal? I honestly feel like I’m going slightly insane with the uncertainty, and I can’t believe they sometimes give as little as 24 hours’ notice for surgery dates. It feels so difficult to plan anything at this stage.I think they just want to wait for me to go into labour... eek!

Yes. It’s normal. Two births at the Rosie.
Both overdue and both times inducement was slow to happen.

DS1 arrived 40+13.
DS2 arrived 40+5 because I created merry hell after DS1 turned out to be undiagnosed breech and was an emergency section.

If you’re having an elective section you’ll be allocated a slot at some point. Once you’re overdue you’ll be able to push more on what slot that is.

In the meantime, sleep, go for dinner somewhere that’s not child friendly, and go to the cinema. Maybe swimming to be weightless? Appreciate this isn’t wha you want to hear tho.
