Essentials for 2nd baby

I'm due baby number two in 6 months. There's going to be a 20 month age gap. I still have a lot of stuff, bassinet, great carrier, some clothes (will need some new ones) etc. But although I've already had one, I feel less prepared for number two.

I've been making a list including pram adaptors (do turn mine into a double), second highchair (I used this early with my first as it lays flat so they can sleep out of reach of dogs and first baby), second cot, new bottle teats, new muslins. Is there anything I'm missing?

This baby will also be born in Winter whereas my first was a spring baby- is there anything extra I need for winter baby other than snow suits?

Snot sucker! Life saver with my October baby. Good to have lots of layering clothes too.

I'm due in a few weeks with my second and will also have a 20 month age gap!

With my winter babe we put a hot water bottle in the cot whilst getting him ready for bed so it was snug in there when I put him down. Removed the hot water bottle before putting the baby in the cot. Also think about snug soft boots if they're in the carrier or buggy, cosy toes etc.

Also think about you. I coslept with my second born, breastfeeding without a top on and keeping the duvet only on my lower body so wasn't near baby was fine in the summer but wouldn't be ideal in winter!

Just had baby no.2 with 18m age gap and felt exactly like you, way less prepared! You've covered what we got - bed, bottles, double buggy, high chair, second car seat, clothes/sleep sacks for opposite seasons, but that's kind of it. We are finding it handy to have doubles of the things we keep in DC1's room, in case we can't get in during naps/bedtime, e.g. thermometer, nose sucker, nail clippers/file... otherwise it just sort of comes back to you in the moment and if you need something else you can buy it after the baby comes!
