For those who are employed, when did or will you tell your employer about the pregnancy? Not sure what is typical.

I told my manager (in confidence) around the 7/8 week mark as I was feeling so crap.

Told other colleagues after 12 weeks

I did the paperwork to officially tell the company after I had my matb1 I think. But we are a huge corporate so there's no real 'telling' you just submit your forms on a system and your manager approves it.

Same as @Unicornorange I had a private early scan at 8 weeks so I told my manager after that, and then the rest of the team after my 12 week scan. Currently 13+5 and all I’ve had to do so far is do a risk assessment but I wfh so not much to fill in. I suffered with morning sickness weeks 6.5-11, so it helped that she knew.

First pregnancy I held out until 20 weeks (with twins!) because I had various promotion/appraisal things going on that I wanted to know I had either passed or failed without discrimination in either direction.

Other pregnancies I told them at 12+ weeks after a clear scan.

I told my manager around 7 or 8 weeks as I was literally being late, taking personal time to puke etc. Needed him to know why my performance was shocking!

I'm currently 12 weeks. Told my manager around 7/8 cos I was so tired and wanted (needed!) To work from home, which she was fine with. Will tell other colleagues after my scan.

I told mine at 15 weeks, but for maternity pay you need to tell them by 25 weeks

With DD2, I told my manager (head teacher) because I was requesting time for scans and midwife appointments from about 8 weeks. I could have been vague but I couldn’t be bothered to hide it. Told everyone else after my 12 week scan.

With DS, I told my manager (civil service job now) at 6/7 weeks because I felt so sick. Needed her to know why I kept disappearing randomly. I was also on training so had to tell the trainers to explain why I wouldn’t be stopping eating salty crackers. Told the rest of my team from 12 weeks. Had to wear my DH’s fleece to hide my bump. Third child so I showed really early.
