I have a glucose test next week for gestational diabetes. Apparently my sugars where high at my last midwife appointment. I don't feel any different in my entire pregnancy I've gained a whole 7lbs.

If it comes back positive is it a big deal? Does it mean my baby is sick?

Some hospitals do the tests as standard regardless of the sugars. They'll just be checking as precautionary, but if you do have it and it's a problem they have ways to monitor it and treat it (diet changes). I'm sure your baby will be fine x

I had gestational diabetes with my second. I remember panicking then I sat myself down read through everything and then created a meal plan for the week. I managed to keep it in check with diet. The gestational diabetes website was really good source of info. In the end I weighed less at the end of pregnancy than I did at beginning! I now get an annual diabetes test as you are more at risk. It takes bit to get head around, if you eat crisps your level go high, but if you eat them dipped in sour cream youre fine.
