Wondering if anyone else has ever been through anything similar…
First day of cycle 1st April due on 28th April. Felt like nothing was happening so tested on 27th and got BFP.
Throughout the week pain in abdomen increasing to the point of vomiting and diarrhoea. By the end of the week tests were very light/non-existent. Went to ED on 2nd May due to pain (thoughts were potentially ectopic?) and bloods taken where HCG 63 (expected to be in the 1000’s for 5 weeks ish) and a negative pregnancy test so was told expected miscarriage and to come back today.
From Saturday until today no bleeding and pain has eased.
Went to appointment today where blood test was carried out (awaiting HCG results) and had a scan where 3 week sac was seen, measuring correct with lining etc and now a BFP!!!!
What on earth could’ve happened?
My possible theories are:
lost a twin? But does that explain the negative inbetween?
Ovulated late and caught again
The first pregnancy is still hanging around and for whatever reason body has upped the HCG
Poor midwife was baffled and I am equally baffled!!!
Another scan in 2 weeks time.
