Car seat advise

In need of a bit of advise please, I’m 35 weeks pregnant and due to induced in 3 weeks so I’m desperate!

I have the oyster 3 pram however I did not buy the pram and with matching car seat and instead I bought the Venicci Tiago I size car seat and 360 isofix base I’m just wondering if there is a way for this car seat to fit in my oyster frame, I do have the prams multi adaptors which I hear work with maxi cosi type fittings and the car seat is also supposed to be compatible with maxi cosi style adaptors but online information is soooo misleading.

I am spiralling and need answers, if it won’t fit is it necessary to have a car seat that will attach to frame?

You don’t need a car seat that fits onto the pram, it’s just more convenient when you’re making short trips. Newborns shouldn’t be in a car seat for longer than 30 minutes at a time without a break due to the risk of asphyxiation anyway, so it’s always best to remove them from the car seat and place them in the pram bassinet.

I didn’t have a car seat that attached, they are not necessary

Cantgetausername87 · 04/05/2026 22:15

Yeah you have no need for it to attach to the pram babies shouldn't be in car seats for long at all so this won't be an issue. If you're going out you can just transfer baby from seat to your pram if going out for the day etc. Usually you bring the car seat into the hospital as they won't let you leave unless they've seen the seat. So you can put your car seat in the car ready and then carry baby out in it x

I never clipped my car seat onto the pram even though I could, it was a faff. I could easily carry the car seat into wherever I was going, or put the baby in the bassinet or in the sling more often.
Sometimes when nipping into the supermarket I'd just put the car seat into the trolley!

I put the car seat on the pram frame once ever. It was a massive faff and I never attempted it again. Had no scenario where it would have been of any benefit.

Im going against minority and saying i found it soooo handy being able to pop the car seat on the pram. Especially as my baby was a non transferable baby once asleep! If they fell asleep in the car I could pop to the shops etc whilst keeping them asleep. The 30 min rule only applies until 2 months ish

Unprettytoo · 04/05/2026 22:54

They should fit the maxi-cosi adaptors :)

i found it really useful being able to put the car seat on the frame. Especially when popping in and out shops with sleeping baby

Happyhappyzoozoo · 04/05/2026 23:07

It will more than likely fit the maxi cosi adaptors. You’ll presumably want to set everything up before baby arrives anyway so just try it out then?

Over 3 babies I’ve only ever put the car seat on the pram maybe half a dozen times so it’s definitely not a necessity anyway.

We didn't have a car seat that fixed to the pram. We wanted to get a car seat that could be used for several years. Also I think newborns are only supposed to be in car seats for short periods anyway.

BertieBotts · 12/05/2026 14:32

It looks like it would fit on those adapters, have you tried it?

I agree it's not necessary to have one which fits on but since you have both pieces it seems worth a try.

30 min rule is officially until 4 weeks old. It's all guidance anyway.

@BertieBotts Thanks for that! No I haven’t tried it as of yet I’m still waiting on the car seat to be delivered it’s just online it’s so confusing if it will or won’t but guess I will just need to find out and if not then it’s not the end of the world!
