Elective c section at 40 weeks

I had an emergency section with my first born due to complications with the induction I had. I am now 37 weeks with my second and have been consultant led. Every appointment I have had with the consultant they have said my elective section will be at 39 weeks.

My community midwife told me to follow up with the booking in team at the hospital Friday for my pre op appointment which I did and they have told me my elective section will now be done at 40 weeks because my consultant has said it can be done on either the 39th or 40th week… this is the first I’ve heard of this. I signed consent forms a few weeks ago and on the front page they have said the section will be done week commencing… and the 39th week.

Has anyone had an elective section at 40 weeks? I’m incredibly nervous to give birth naturally due to the complications with my first and worry holding on I will go in to birth naturally and not have the elective section I have requested.

Did they give you a date (different to what you've been told before)? I would ring up and tell them you're not happy with the change of plan and you would like to be booked for ELCS at 39 weeks as discussed. Get them to write in your notes that you don't agree to the new plan. Sorry you're having this stress at 37 weeks! X
