Brown spotting at 6 weeks in IVF pregnancy while using progesterone pessaries

hi lovely people
So I am 6w 1d pregnant through IVF. All seemed to be going well until I started with spotting 2 and half days ago. It keeps coming and going.. never really gets heavy.. and is brown like old blood.
I am on progesterone pesseries 3 x a day & the spotting seems to go worse when I insert these.. I’m just looking for similar stories that turned out fine? I’ve had previous miscarriage so of course I am on high alert!
Please can you all tell me about spotting you had when pregnant around 6/7 week that was absolutely fine. I would like to hear if any of you were on pessaries and if you think it was cervix irritation that caused the spotting as this is what I think it could be but I’m just so scared of miscarriage 😞
Thank you all in advance ❤️❤️

I bled in both pregnancies where I used progesterone suppositories. (my 4th and 5th as my first 3 miscarried)

With both I spotted brown blood and with one I had a lot of red blood as well. Of course nobody can be certain of the outcome but it is not uncommon for the pessaries to cause spotting.

You should probably call the assessment unit or midwife to discuss this.

In my case both pregnancies were OK and my DC are now 30 and 28.

i had some brown spotting around this time and I think it was caused by the pessaries! I asked my clinic and they advised to use them rectally and that stopped the spotting! I’m currently 32 weeks and all going well. Congratulations on your pregnancy, i hope all goes smoothly for you ❤️

I bled in all my ivf pregnancies and in my natural pregnancies.

I am currently 25 weeks and had exactly the same issue at 7weeks with my IVF baby.
I went to get checked out at an early pregnancy assessment unit and was told it probably was just irritation from the pessaries and that I could insert rectally if needed/bleeding continues.

Definitely worth getting checkout out though!

Thank you for the reply! How long did yours last do you remember ? It does seem to be when I insert the pessary, it then eases throughout the day until it’s almost gone but the same thing when I insert again. This has been for the last 4days. I’ve got my early scan in a couple of days so hopefully I get some answers ☺️🤞🏻

It went on for a few days until a changed how I used the pessaries it was sort of on and off for 3/4 days and then I made the switch! Good luck for your scan 🥰
