Low lying anterior placenta covering c section scar / placenta accreta worries

Hi all

i have just had my 20 week scan for my second baby and been told I have a low lying anterior placenta (15mm) which is also covering my c section scar. I’ve been referred to the placenta accreta team for further investigation - should be in a few weeks time. I’m ticking all the boxes for higher risk of PAS - previous section, low lying placenta and previous other uterine surgeries.

has anyone been in this position before and it’s been ok (eg was covering the scar but wasn’t embedded)? Or if it’s highly likely it is going to be placenta accreta giving its low lying and covering the scar, what was your experience like? I know it’s a spectrum and there can be ranges of severity.

im absolutely terrified after googling PAS and looking to speak to people who have been through something similar 💗

sending lots of love to anyone in this same boat xx

With my third I had the same at my 20 week scan. It was explained to me my placenta may move up away from my cervix still and thankfully after further investigation there was no placenta accreta. I hope it’s the same outcome for you ❤️
