Hi! I’m 9+5 weeks pregnant and have had 3 healthy scans at 7,8 and 9 weeks however the day before my 9 week scan, I started brown spotting and still am 5 days later. I have another scan booked with EPU later today but am expecting the worst. Has anyone else experienced something similar? Sorry for the graphic photo…

I had this during my last pregnancy , it stopped and started over weeks and was always brown. Everything was okay and I had a healthy baby at 42 weeks. I never really understood why it had happened , but it appeared to aggravated by having a bowel movement.

When I did have a miscarriage (a few years before) the blood turned red and was accompanied by lower back pain.

I hope your scan goes well op , do pop back to the thread and let us know if you wish to. Good luck.

Thank you that’s super helpful. Mine also seems worse with bowel movements and particularly in the morning. After that, sometimes it doesn’t even show when I wipe, especially if it’s just a wee. I then think it’s getting better until I go to the toilet again the following morning.

Yes this happened to me several times during the first 6 months when I with pregnant and everything was fine. There was no explanation for it. I did wonder if it was because my placenta was low-lying to start with but then moved up. Good luck to you, I remember how worrying it was each time.

I had this with both my pregnancies. They are now 33 and 30 so no issues

I had brown discharge for several days each time at 6 weeks and also at 10 weeks. This was 30 years ago and the GP then said it was due to hormone dips when my menstrual cycle would have been and that it could happen throughout my pregnancy but for me it didn't. I was worried silly and was constantly checking my pants all day long, it was such an anxious time. I went to full term and had a healthy baby. All good wishes to you OP xxx

I had much more bleeding than that and two healthy babies. It really can go either way.
