Light brown spotting at nearly 12 weeks, please share positive stories

I really need a hand hold - I am 11+6 with my third baby and since monday night have had super light brown spotting, maybe 2-3 times a day when wiping. I had some back ache and rang EPU, they said they could see me to check for UTI etc but cant offer a scan untill the weekend and I have my 12 week scan booked tomorrow so they said to wait for that. They seemed quite 'what will be will be' which I suppose is true but this waiting has been excruciating

Ive been driving myself mad in a google hole and reading a mix of positive and negative stories about this type of spotting. I had an absolutely huge bleed at this gestation with my son and everything was fine but I am feeling super traumatised and unable to go about my day just constantly checking if I am bleeding and feeling like im going mad.

Does anyone have any positive stories please about experiencing this sort of spotting that can help get me through till my scan tomorrow

Thank you!

Hi OP, sorry you’re going through this, I know how scary and all consuming it feels. I had brown spotting at about 13 weeks with my fist and then again about 18 weeks and it was quite heavy each time/ lasted more than one day. Each time I was checked and they said it was from my cervix - cervical ectropion I think it’s called. From reading on here too I would say there are so many reasons for bleeding - I hope you get more answers at your scan and maybe can be seen at EPU for an internal exam as they will usually confirm if cervix is closed etc. x

Hi, i had heavy bleeding with both my children, bright red and old rusty coloured blood. I was worried sick but one female doctor told me she had the same with her children. No explanation and all was fine. She said some women just bleed. I am no expert but my kids are now 14 and 8. Completely fine. I wish you all the best. X
