Enjoy them. Baby will come when it's ready

umberella · 20/06/2008 08:28

not from me - i went 15 days over during which time i ate lots of curries, tweaked nips, bounced on ball till 2am every night, drank g&t and sexually harrassed my poor dp. nothing worked!

VictorianSqualor · 20/06/2008 08:41

Overdue as in 42+3 or as in 40+3?

faireyqueen · 20/06/2008 08:46

As in 40+3 VS.
I do realise that LO is not technically OD until beyond 42 weeks, Its still very frustrating though. Its an emotional rollercoaster!

Oh Gosh, yes I know! I sympathise totally!
I went to 41 weeks with DS2 and had officially Had Enough by about 32weeks!

Just wondered whether you were about to be pushed into induction or still had some time left.

faireyqueen · 20/06/2008 09:07

No, am booked for sweep on Tue, 40+7, fingers crossed things may start before then or that will kick things off.
Have had low backache and period type pains on and off for a day or 2. No other signs as yet!

I went to 43+3. Advice would be... try not to stress about it... enjoy these last few days as soon enough you won't have a minute to yourself! Don't answer the phone, people will now start demanding to know where the baby is, it drove me demented.
Tbh sounds like you might be having pre-labour pains anyway. Good luck and remember you WON'T be pregnant forever!

Ettenna · 20/06/2008 09:56

Try and go for a long walk/waddle every day. I did this with my equally pregnant neighbour and it helped to distract us from the waiting, waiting, waiting...

Take these last few days to look at your old life and say goodbye to it!

And don't worry! I was fully induced and 41+6 and had an easy birth of a very big and healthy boy.

faireyqueen · 20/06/2008 12:52

Thanks for words of support! I know it wont be forever, just feels like it. And yes the phonecalls are already driving me demented! x

Have you tried eating pineapple, it has to be fresh not canned and you have to eat a fair bit

muminCT · 20/06/2008 13:06

I can't even imagine how you feel, my 1st was born at 35 and my 2nd at 37. Each time my 8 months I was fed up and ready to have the baby.

I've heard raspberry tea works and so does lots of sex

Lolski · 20/06/2008 13:48

Hi Faireyqueen. No advice or tips I am afraid but I totally sympathise as I am in the same boat. I am 40 + 5 and am booked in for a sweep on Monday. I had a show a couple of weeks ago and nothing happened. I have had more show this morning though and am getting very mild period pains so am hoping this is the start of something. Have tried pineapple and reflexology but so far nothing !!!
Good Luck !

eandz · 20/06/2008 13:52

yes, pineapples! everytime i eat pineapples or drink pineapple juice i get braxton hicks....so i'm hedging all bets on a pineapple induced diet at week 38 hopefully.

good luck to you!

chocbiscuits · 20/06/2008 13:54

I had Ds at 42 weeks, and he was not over-big, 8lbs exactly

faireyqueen · 20/06/2008 18:34

Lolski, i have sweep booked for tue....fingers crossed too, and good luck to you. Come on babies!!

Wonder if you overdue ladies have given birth since yesterday??? I'm overdue by 2 days and hating it! It's my second so feeling very incapacitated when it comes to looking after first one - who was 3 days early!
Just had a curry for dinner but not holding my breath & I have a pineapple ready for when I get peckish... soon!

faireyqueen · 22/06/2008 07:47

No mamma t, still have a squatter in my tummy!
On day 5 now, feeling pretty rotten to be honest. Seem to be growing by the hour, cant sleep and think Im getting a cold
It wont be long now tho I know...Looking forward to sweep on Tue!!

fairyqueen, no advice i'm affraid but much sympathy. I have 2 dc, dd was born at 40+14 and ds at 40+11 so i know how frustrating being late is! I found the constant 'haven't you had it yet' questions so annoying fingers crossed something happens for you soon

faireyqueen · 22/06/2008 10:36

Thanks Eddas, yep the 'have you had it yet' is super annoying. I know people are just excited!
