I gave birth in the car...

My cousins wife gave birth in the front garden.
she was on her way to the car but didn’t make it either to the car or back to the house.

I love these kinds of stories. I would be terrified if it happened to me though!

Hospital corridor, just by reception, which was thankfully closed!

Dontknowwhattobelieve2 · Yesterday 20:18

Hospital car park.. would have been a bus stop if my mum didn’t tell my step dad to carry on driving.

I gave birth stood up on the landing

I didnt even know i was pregnant-really thought it was bad period pains until I got the urge to push the biggest poo out (the bathroom was about a foot away)

Typical sods law,the landing had no carpet as I was meant to be having one fitted later that day,so had ripped up the old one the day before, the poor little sod was born onto bare floorboards

The carpet fitting went ahead later that day, while I was in hospital-a friend came round to let them in

He was no3 baby and is now 26 and just made me a grandma (and I loved telling his girlfriends/his now wife how he was born)

Friend of mine gave birth in the bath with her neighbour as a midwife

Colleague gave birth in her GP’s surgery at 8 months when in for a check-up 😁

Ipsevenenabibas · Yesterday 20:55

The car, hospital car park or corridor are quite common places to have a baby!

I was in the Amazon rainforest and the tribespeople there told me that they go into the forest to give birth.

DeepFriedCreamEgg · Yesterday 20:58

I read about somebody who set a tipee tent in their garden and chose to do it out there.

I am a homebirth midwife, once nearly had to deliver a baby on a trampoline, managed to get her inside first though.

Contrary to hospital births - out of all the home births I have been at, only one was on a bed. Most women have either used a birth pool, or been leaning over a sofa / on the sofa / crouched on floor / in bathroom.

In a field. On purpose

My childhood neighbour was born in a taxi outside the local chipper to his then 15 year old mum. Sad really, like something out of an episode of Eastenders.

I have a friend who gave birth on the loo…. Twice!

Both times had gone the hospital only to be told she wasn’t ready yet and to go home until contractions were further apart. Popped to the loo before getting a taxi and out popped baby.
For the 3rd she insisted on staying put 😂

Gave birth in my dining room on 1st April 😅

Tillow4ever · Today 15:33

My friend from my Babycentre birth group gave birth on her bathroom floor at 28 weeks. Luckily all was well and the “baby” is a strapping 21 year old lad now!

I remember hearing at work about a lady who was leaving the office after her last day before maternity leave who then gave birth in the car park!

Other than that, everyone I know has been in hospital!

In a lift? That's wrong on so many levels.... (chortle)
