Should goat's cheese be avoided during pregnancy?...

I heard today that goat's cheese should be avoided, I knew about avoiding blue veined cheese and brie but is goat's cheese also bad? What are the consequences if they are eaten during pregnancy?

possible risk of listeria. very very small risk. should be OK if cooked to very hot.

Thanks TC. I am a little worried as I had a small amount of goat's cheese a few weeks ago (am 7+4 currently). The cheese was melted but I don't think cooked to very hot. (oh no, melted is probably worse than cold, in terms of bacteria development). I have just looked it up and listeriosis looks rare thank goodness. Even when I went to see the doctor he just said to avoid raw egg and cat litter trays and I had to prompt him about blue/brie cheeses!! No mention of goats cheese from him!

i've heard it's bad, but if made in the UK it's generally pasteurised so should be fine (I just eat any pasteurised cheese to be honest)
