Premature rupture - help

A friend has had the dreadful news of premature rupture of the membranes (she’s 17 weeks pregnant). She’s on hospital bedrest and things are stabilising but obviously could change any minute. Her husband works full time and her parents live in another country. Has anyone been through this before and wishes their friends did X Y or Z? I really want to support her but unsure of the best way

I haven’t been through exactly this (mine went at 33 weeks) but my go-to is to make delicious food and drop with no obligation to talk to you. I’d potentially put together a care package if I could afford it - new pjs, slippers, fluffy socks, shampoo/conditioner, books (select how ever many bits you think she’d enjoy and you can afford)

If it seems she wants to talk regularly, offer her your time if she’d like it and ask her how best you can support her. Does she want you to check in every day? Or does that feel like pressure and an obligation when she just wants to zone out from life
