Is dye stealer even a thing? im 19 dpo and for the last 3 days my frer have been very dark. The test line and control line are the same. But no dye stealer. Trying to take it easy and not read into it. Im out of tests and dont want to buy more.

I mean they are a “thing”. But really they don’t mean anything. I had amazing dye stealers for 2 different pregnancies. But scans at 7 weeks showed both had stopped growing before 6 weeks. Honestly if your test lines are dark I’d just stop testing now and be happy that you’re pregnant!

Thank you for commenting. I honestly have no mental energy for this. I dont think ill be testing anymore

There's really no need to keep testing. Line strength has no correlation to pregnancy success. If you can see a second line, you are pregnant :)

Your so right. Ive just been through a lot. And when you see other people posting their dye stealers your mind overthinks.

Hey. What is a dye stealer?

rosepedal · 20/04/2026 14:13

when the test line gets stronger than the cpntrol line.

Never had one, always stopped testing after one positive. I think repeat testing fuels anxiety- it can’t reassure you not matter how many tests you do so you get stuck in a cycle. It can’t protect you if you get bad news.

The best advice I had was to repeat to myself “Today I am pregnant” and accept that. I had multiple losses. Wishing you the best of luck in your journey.

I wish i can go back to testing once and accept it. After this morning i binned the tests and said thats it. Like you said today im pregnant and thats what counts. But thanks so much for responding.
