Hi,
Does anyone have any experience of giving birth at North Manchester General hospital?
I'm trying to decide where to give birth and this is currently my chosen hospital.
Other options include Wythenshawe and Stepping Hill if anyone could comment on those?
Thanks :)

I had my baby at Wythenshawe (almost 4 years ago) and it was amazing. I was so well cared for, it felt calm and peaceful and I’d not hesitate to go back there if I still lived in the area.

It's in the same trust as Wythenshawe and St Mary's.

Go for a tour of the birthing centre. I work there and they're regular ☺️

I had my baby in the birth centre at Wythenshawe in 2023 and it was a really wonderful experience, couldn’t recommend it any more, presuming it’s a low risk birth. Can’t comment on North but it’s absolutely right that North, Saint Mary’s and Wythenshawe are all the same trust so policies will be the same, though staffing and environments will differ. Good luck for wherever you choose.

I had my baby at stepping hill and it was terrible - I’m going to a different hospital for my current pregnancy so I would recommend not there! I’ve heard good things about wythenshawe though!
