11 weeks 4 day scan and stomach not showing

I was accidentally booked in for my 12 week scan before I was twelve weeks. I'm actually 11 weeks and 4 days. Everything came back fine.. heartbeat fine , amniotic fluid fine, low risk for Down's syndrome and all organs found but the doctor couldn't find the stomach. He says this does happen sometimes because the babies stomach is empty or wrong position and for me not to worry but obviously I'm worrying ...
Anyone had similar experience?

i haven’t, sorry. Have they booked you in for a re-scan? Did the sonographer seem worried? What have they said happens now?

@Tillow4ever he called me later today and said I'd seem worried so he can do an extra scan for me on his lunch break next Thursday. When i will be 12 weeks. No he didn't seem worried at all and when I asked him should I worry , he said no. But obviously pregnancy brain is worried !

Oh bless him! I’m glad he picked up that you were worried - of course you would be with a comment like that! Fingers crossed that baby is in the right position etc next time.

However - just in case, write down any questions you have before you go. I’d suggest things like: In your experience, what are the chances that the stomach is actually missing? If the stomach is missing, what does that mean for my baby - what are our next steps? If you can’t be sure, what do we need to do next? When will you scan me again? Is this pregnancy viable if the baby’s stomach hasn’t developed (I appreciate that’s going to be hard to ask - if it were me, I’d want to know sooner rather than later)?

I’m sure there are other questions you will think of. The main thing is you don’t want to leave without understanding what it means and what the risks are, because of course you will be worried.

I hope it’s all fine, and I’m of the opinion that if the sonographer isn’t worried, that’s usually a good sign.

I wish you well and hope you have a healthy and successful pregnancy!
