6+3 - HCG of 1000?

I had a HCG test today due to some spotting. The lady on the phone said it was 'over 1000 which is quite high'. But I've looked on Google and a few of the search results, and they all seem to say 1000 is low?

Does anyone know anymore about this please? Is 1000 really okay? I do have an EPU scan on Friday

If you are positive about your dates, I think 1000 is very low for that stage. There are lots of stories of women with low HCG where it turned out fine, but I would hope for the best and prepare for the worst. So sorry, it’s a horrible limbo. I’ve been there more than once. Flowers

Also I hope the lady did already advise this but if you can get any significant pain, go straight to A&E as there could be a small chance of ectopic.

@Dragonlady3 Thank you ☺️ Yeah I had mentioned ectopic myself, because I'd been having some mild niggly on/off pain round my right ovary area. But when she felt me, I didn't have any pain. I'm getting scanned on Friday so I suppose that will show for definite. Just a bit miffed the lady told me it was high when it's not :(

1 number isn't really going to tell you anything. No two womens hcg numbers are the same. Theres a broad range. What matters is that your hcg is doubling.
With my first pregnancy, I was almost hitting 6 weeks my hcg was only 452 i think. Hes now almost 2.
Theres no way of knowing without second test 48hrs after the first but if you having a scan Friday then unfortunately you'll just have to wait.
I had a mc in September and my hcg was 651 at 6 weeks then 700 2 days later, the next day i was sent to epu , I was 6+5 they tested again and it had plateued . They said they'd be expecting it to be over 1000 at this stage, it just was moving slowly and thats what ive read onlime aswell but mine was only at 700 and they brought me in immediately suspecting etopic but baby was in right position but just sadly not heartbeat.
Your just on that threshold so unfortunately as difficult as it is, your just going to have to wait for the scan to give an accurate answer.

@VioIetMoon Yeah I'm assuming they didn't say they'd retest because they know I have the scan. Will have to wait for that to know more.

I've only had my HCG tested after a mmc, but I can't even remember the levels now. I just know it took absolutely ages to come down, I had to go to EPU every week for a blood test for about 10 weeks
