Baby Shower and Hospital Bag

Hi Ladies,

Just a quick question for you all.

I am organising a baby shower for my SIL and whilst I have got most things covered, just wondered if anyone had any ideas to make it extra special and mememorable.

There will be about 10 of us. Just want to add some nice touches.

Aslo, our two main gifts are a basket for the baby and a basket for the mum to be with everything she will need for the hospital.

I know the main bits that ned to go into her box, btu am lookign for any extras that you might be taking, or nice bits that i perhaps may not have thought of.

Also we are makign a small basket for the dad and depserately need suggestions for his box.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Something we do over here which everyone loves is a Diaper cake! Made out of real diapers!!

Will be something she will love and gets lots of use out of. We all know how much babies poop. They really aren't that hard to make either!

Disclaimer: I have yet to give birth! However, I read a thread about hospital bags this morning and a couple of things that sounded useful that I wouldn't have thought of myself were: Magicool spray, one of those wheat pillow things to heat up and put on your back, mints and/or Lucozade tablets to take the taste away if you're sick, and tea tree oil for baths afterwards.

Oh, and you can get diaper cakes on ebay I think

Yes I have seen the diaper cakes... will think about that... I have seen them on many websites.
