Anyone had very low levels of ferritin in pregnancy? Any tips to boost it? I feel abit floaty n fuzzy feeling back of head but bp is low side but normal. Midwife said take iron tablets every other day but level 5 ferritin seems extremely low. Unsure if I should be asking for iron infusion?

If it’s really 5 that’s way too low & seems irresponsible of them to send you home with iron tablets. I’d try pushing for an infusion for sure. I hope you find someone more helpful than that midwife!

there's plenty of time for the tablets to start working. This isn't an uncommon scenario and unless there's some massive drip feed about being unusually anaemic/having other medical problems, oral replacement is usually first line and often does the job.

Five is insanely low! I'd definitely insist on a iv transfusion and pay privately if they refuses. My iron dropped postpartum from breastfeeding so I wouldn't risk it at your stage. What if you had bleeding in labour?!
