and its been WRONG? Dh booked a private one for me at 17 weeks as a suprise, but from reading posts it seems quite early to have a gender scan! I went anyway (am now 23 weeks gone) and the lady seemed very confident, she actually froze the scan and said...you tell ME what you are having. I could see a sticky outy thing lol so i said a boy.

She said yes and that was that (it was 2d not 4d) but my pregnancy is EXACTLY the same as my girls, carrying the same way, the same migraines, the same EVERYTHING, i keep thinking its going to come out a girl! Dont get me wrong i will love my baby no matter what, but we both would love a son and it would come as quite a shock after 23 weeks of thinking and bonding with a lad!

I will add a picture of my scan picture in case there is any scan picture experts out there whom want to reassure me (or stell me to get a grip!)

My sil was told at 17 weeks (our local pct used to scan at 16 and 24 weeks now 12 and 24 weeks)) that her 2nd child was another boy, had another scan around 24 weeks and songrapher said 'he' was a she (and yes she had a girl)

I would say that the baby is definately a boy! there is a piccie of my ds "bits" 3D in my profile, but your scan pic looks exactly the same as when i had my 20 weeks scan and i found out we were having a boy.

Congratulations!

LOL pucca, thats so sweet! definately a boy! i can see if you were to look at that from underneath it would be similar to my scan. I was hoping to maybe save up and have a 3d scan, your picture has made me pretty keen!

Wonder woman, thats hat i was afraid of, now i know 17 weeks is quite early to have a gender scan.

I am useless at scan pictures, when we had dd2 we decided to find out sex and sonographer froze picture and showed us and we didnt 'get' it, she had to tell us (

although I was convinced that she was a girl, saying that I was convinced dd1 was a boy and even took blue babygro in my bag I was when she was born and they said its a girl)

Sorry forgot to add congratulations either way

goingfor3 · 19/06/2008 11:32

At 20 weeks the sonographer could see the shadow of a labia on my sacn. At 30 weeks baby had developed a very large scrotum!!!! Ds was born four weeks ago!!!

wonderwomanakaeandh · 19/06/2008 11:32

I had 4d scan done at 28 weeks and it was great (we took dd1 to that one as we were trying to get her to understand what was going on)

re you anywhere near Kent as can recommend a fantastic clinic (we paid £120 for cd of pics, dvd and loads of printed pics)

I don't have my NHS scan till almost 22 weeks

So I booked a 2d gender dcan privately for 17 weeks!

Am panicking now!

saywhat · 19/06/2008 12:42

i dont get a 20 week nhs sca, thats why hubby booked for me. The babybond said it would be absolutely fine though at 17 weeks.

LitterBug · 19/06/2008 12:44
