Waiting nearly 2 weeks for combined screening results

It’s been almost 2 weeks since I had my combined bloods taken but I still haven’t heard anything from my hospital. I’ve just left a message to ask if they have a record of my results, but wondered if anyone here had a similarly long wait and it was just a slow process rather than a concern? Slightly nervous as my booking bloods went missing & don’t want the same to have happened with these. Last time I got results in 5 days so this has felt long.

My midwife said they could take up to the full 2 weeks, she said if there was anything to be concerned about they would contact me within the first 7 days, so hopefully now you're over that it can put your mind at rest a little x

That is helpful, thank you. Relying on no news is good news!

Mine took almost 3 weeks. I'd been told it would be up to 2 so was freaking out, but it was all fine. Low risk, just slow post!

CatchHimDerry · 07/04/2026 18:04

Ours don’t contact you unless you get a high risk result, midwife informed me at 16 week check all ok

Havanalily1806 · 07/04/2026 18:06

Mine said if it was anything concerning I’d get a phone call within 3 days. Letter would be issued in the post with results about 7-10 days but have also just had 2 bank holidays and Royal Mail is super duper slow.

they also said badger notes will be updated but that that’s quite slow.

@WestieThamesthey get the results after 3 days. If youd tested high risk youd have gotten a call by now. Youre likely low risk so its possible they just wrote to you and its taking its time with the easter holiday.
Remember that the combined test is only 80% accurate. Unfortunately I was one of those people it missed out in the past so if youre at all concerned go and get yourself a NIPT for around 300 quid or so.
